We are so pleased we entrusted Signature Homes with building our new home! From the get-go we found Dom and the team professional and warm, and intent on making our ideas and dreams a reality whilst sticking to our budget. The building process itself went smoothly and Tristan and the team were exceptional with their problem-solving and handling of issues that inevitably arise in any building project - we found the whole process rather stress-free and just really exciting and fun! We had a vision and they worked with that to create something more special than we thought possible. It was surreal stepping into our beautiful new home on handover day and we were taken back that three of the Signature staff were there to do that. We are so thankful for this gorgeous home and the journey it took to get here. Thank you Signature Homes!

Right from the very first inquiry I made through to the handover at the end, the team at Signature Homes has been amazing, very supportive and professional. We recently completed a design and build home with Signature Homes, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. Our new build by SJB Construction t/a Signature Homes Nelson took more than two years from initial visit to settlement. We chose them due to their [subsequently removed] website statements of Completion Date Guarantee and Signature Homes built its reputation on building beautiful, architecturally designed homes... Prior to contract 30 or so unsolicited changes or variables were applied that could have increased the price by tens of thousand dollars so we had them reverted. No explanations of those changes have been forthcoming, nor the defects and appalling state of the property at settlement. There was no invitation to us nor our local agent to even visit the site at any time pre-settlement. Handover as put to us by the build representative was to attend their reception to collect keys and a few documents at their chosen date and time. No project person nor management person was present. Nor was there ever an invitation to one of their much-vaunted formal style of handover. Never. Nothing. Once achieving access we resolved numerous defects – the gap in the rear fence, scalding hot water [high thermostat setting and inactive tempering valve], missing tv aerial cable, unreachable bedside light switches, their skip, slurry from the salesman’s short-term investment build across the road, builder power plinth, random re-opening garage door, 2 right-angle sliding doors bashing each other, lack of non-return flaps on 4 x 150mm extractor fan ducts, and arranged for the included pre-paid garage flooring to actually be installed. We could not remove the footprints made in the front entrance wet concrete so they remain today. The builder did ultimately accept 3 of their defects though - fence height at the front boundary, exposed mains cable, and protruding over-length brads. When they visited the site we highlighted to the builders their unknown error of installing a full-height window wrongly by 800 – 900mm laterally. In an altruistic gesture we accepted it as is and saved them tens of thousands of dollars by them not being obliged to remedy their defect. No similar altruistic offer has been forthcoming from the builder. Fortunately various other problems went to a tribunal for resolution. All we wanted was a simple investment property, so perhaps we should have chosen one of their cookie–cutter plans for an extremely simple project to build. Visiting their sales office was the absolute worst decision in well over 50 years, with a process that appeared to be Your Home, My Way.... And worst such process we are aware of. Ever. To put that in perspective after each having more than 30 years in diverse aspects of the electrical and construction industries in NZ we relocated to the Gold Coast and became licenced real estate agents, property managers, and project managers for 18 years in an amicable result-orientated environment. A massive contrast to this project.
