As first-time home builders, our experience with Alena Homes couldn’t have been further from the many stories we had heard from people with other building companies. Others told us of constant delays - our build was actually finished far more quickly than expected and everything slotted together incredibly smoothly, thanks to the skilful project management of Helen and Lena. Other people told us of unexpected expenses - we didn’t have any other than the few changes we made ourselves after the contract was signed, and the whole build cost was extremely reasonable, with quality materials and skilled tradespeople. We heard so many stories of people wishing they had done things differently looking back - but we couldn’t be happier with our design and outcome, thanks to the expertise of Helen and Lena as they guided us through the planning process. The difference has been evident to others. The home loan manager at our bank commented, “I have never experienced such a quick, hassle-free build in my life, so well done to you and your contractors.” My father, who has spent his career as a project management consultant, was blown away by how well the whole project was orchestrated. Helen and Lena have been absolute delights to work with. They are both so knowledgeable and experienced, with wonderful eyes for detail and fantastic communication skills. They always went the extra mile to help and we were made to feel that no question was too small or silly. At the end of our build, I felt the same way that I did towards my midwife after my children’s births - such gratitude towards amazing people who nurtured us during such a special time in our lives, and handed over “the baby” at the end of it all! We will always be grateful for the wonderful care and guidance we received from Alena Homes, and cannot recommend them more highly.

When we wanted to replace our old farmhouse, with a home that would blend in with the country setting we meet Helen and Lena-Jane and were impressed with their friendly, helpful attitude. Lena-Jane showed us through her house, and we decided that was the sort of home we had in mind. We enjoyed working with both Helen and Lena-Jane from the Planning stage right through to the build and found their knowledge and eye for detail great. Working with people who own the company and their great team of Builders and Tradees allowed our home to be just what we were hoping for, and we would be happy to build with them again. We have always liked the Villa styled home as in our family background there is one. A number of years ago we saw one being built with the Alena Home signage. Then it was looking at the website and liking what we saw. As our plans for the future became clearer, we made contact with Helen and Lena Jane, and we felt very comfortable to discuss our future ideas with them. Then it was a matter of waiting for a suitable section that we liked. Once we had this we sat down with Helen and Lena Jane and looked at a number of different plans. There was no problem with making a customized plan for our home from existing plans. Both Helen and Lena Jane had good input into layout and sizes of rooms. Once the plan was set all was very well organized. If there were any problems, they were resolved efficiently and quickly. As we hadn't built before all our little questions were well explained by all especially our builders James and Alex. The end product was well finished, and it has ticked all the boxes for us.
