After our initial meeting (which was a free callout to come and view our land and discuss building options) David excelled with communication and consistency. A clear plan was executed and deadlines were reached seamlessly. We are so happy with our new home, the finishings are unique and bespoke and everything we could have hoped for and more. 10/10 would recommend David and the team at Marsden if you are thinking of starting your new build.

David Chapman at Marsden Homes built our house in Waipu while we were in lockdown in Auckland for the majority of the time. This could have added to the stress of building but due to the excellent processes and systems that Marsden Homes have in place, this was not the case. If you are considering a new build, I can wholeheartedly recommend Marsden Homes. We built with Marsden Homes in 2025. Our build process started back in 2022. This was when we first met with David. He came out to site and discussed some initial concepts and timings. Immediately, we appreciated his clear communication and responsiveness. Before the build commenced we subdivided our section - a process that took much longer than anticipated. David was very patient, giving us space and time to work though that process, while providing ongoing support. The design process was great. We came with an initial concept, which Marsden was able to run with. Working with David and his team meant we didn't have to dip into our budget for architecture fees, yet we were still able to customise our designs. We had numerous iterations, all of which were included in a modest design budget of $10,000. The selections process was also smooth, with clearly laid out documents outlining what decisions were coming up, and when they need to be made. This allowed us to chunk the process into bite sizes pieces, so we didn't feel overwhelmed or get burnt out. David also provided some great guidance, for design options that met our brief, and our budget - a key example being adding a scissor truss ceiling, which gave us extra ceiling height, while minimising additional engineering and structural costs. Once the build began, we were very impressed by how well organised all aspects were. The online portal was useful, including a schedule of works, payments, variations, and key documents. This meant we had a clear view of how things were progressing. We also appreciated the regular email updates, which included a summary of the recent work completed, photographs, upcoming work, and an indication of how we were tracking against our timeline. As with all large projects, there were occasional changes, issues and differences in understanding along the way. When these arose, David was always operated with integrity - explaining the cause, taking responsibility, and working with us to make things right. We really appreciated his calm professionalism, and his commitment to reaching a fair outcome. Our build was completed on time, and very nearly on budget. We are incredibly happy with our new home - the care and pride the team has taken in crafting a quality home is immediately evident. David has been in regular contact since we completed, making sure everything is going well, and quickly resolving any requests. The team of contractors he brings together are skilled and deliver quality work, and he does a fantastic job of managing the project end to end.
