We recently underwent a renovation on our home late 2025, which included 1) removal of a bracing wall to open up the living area, and 2) installation of brackets for a pergola which we planned to install ourselves. Simon from COGAN CUSTOM HOMES builders was a magnificent organizer, first coming to inspect the job, providing quotes, and then keeping us in touch with what was happening and when. We had a challenging moment when we realized we needed to have on file an approval showing the alternative bracing wall, but this was completed without incident and did not interrupt the work being done. Simon then installed brackets for the pergola, which would have been a challenging job for us, being non-builders. He organized contractors for electrical work, plastering and painting, and then came to check on the finished job to ensure we were happy with the results before lodging the invoice, which happily came in under the quoted amount. Craig, Simon, and the team at Cogan Custom Homes were outstanding to deal with during the build of our new home. They were always available to talk things over, discuss alternative options, and make changes to plans upon request. They didn't just deliver a service; they took the time to understand our vision and offered insights we hadn't even considered. They went above and beyond throughout the build in many ways, such as ensuring there was wheelchair access to the building site at all times so that my husband could have easy access for walk-throughs and progress checks. Craig kept to our budget and worked hard to save us money where he could; he even challenged the engineer’s slab design as being over-engineered. Consequently, the plans were changed, saving us tens of thousands of dollars. We would highly recommend Cogan Custom Homes for any new build. We built our very first new home in Marsden Cove with Craig Cogan from Cogan Custom Homes. He came highly recommended by a lot of the locals. Our big concern was the new build running over budget as friends had told us that you needed at least another 20% on top of the build quote as it always runs over. This never happened to us. Craig and Simon had an app called CoConstruct. All Craigs quotes were on there, all conversations, answers, queries, practically everything to do with the build. Everything could be looked up by my husband and myself and Craig and Simon. We had no over runs in fact we had credits. Every contractor that was employed by Craig was always on site when he said they would be and everyone did an amazing job and were very nice to deal with. Our building site was always immaculate, swept out and grounds tidy. Craig and Simon were always very approachable and nothing was ever a problem. If we ever had the opportunity to build again we would definetly build with Craig Cogan Custom Homes. We cannot speak highly enough of Craig and his team. Thank you Craig for our beautiful home.
