I regret to say that I cannot recommend this builder and would rate my experience one star. The level of service provided, both in terms of construction quality and client communication, has been extremely poor. The brand-new home they built for me had numerous defects from the outset. These included water leaks that caused rusting to the flooring and carpet, dampness on the walls, and gaps around the back door that allowed flies and insects to enter the house. The kitchen tap was of very poor quality, with the colour wearing off within days of installation. Several windows were not properly sealed and were missing rubber pads, kitchen drawer hinges were misaligned, and there was a noticeable gap in the garage door that allowed rainwater, insects, and wind to enter. Despite being promised that the house would be completed within one year, construction took over 18 months. Throughout this period, the site manager failed to communicate with us and did not return calls despite multiple follow-ups. This company also renovated my rental property, where the workmanship was equally unacceptable. The carpet was not installed correctly, the heat pump stopped working, and the deck handrail was loose, unsafe, and wobbly. I have been attempting to have these issues resolved for over a year, requiring countless phone calls with minimal progress. Currently, the Business Development Manager, Max, is no longer responding to my calls. Calls to the office largely go unanswered, and on the rare occasions when someone does answer, the call is abruptly disconnected. This ongoing lack of communication is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. The only time I was contacted was after a relative of mine, who is an investor, spoke to Max regarding a potential new build contract. I was informed that my unresolved issues had been “forgotten” and were only raised again because my relative reminded them. Even now, not all issues have been fixed, and requests for the owner’s contact details have been refused. When I advised staff that I would consider taking legal action against the company due to the ongoing unresolved issues, this was met with indifference and a lack of concern. This response further demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism and accountability. Based on my experience, I would not purchase even a minor $2 item from this company, let alone trust them with building a home. If you are looking to build a safe and reliable home for your family, I strongly advise against using BMH. Construction delays can result in significant additional mortgage interest, and you may still be left with poor workmanship and no meaningful resolution

We have had an absolutelty amazing experience with BMH, they have picked up the mess another builder has made and have been really hands on, helpful and just overall great. I would definately recommend it to anyone. Gordon, Zoey and Simon have been amazing !

Worst home builders and worst ever vendor, did settlement on 21 December, 2023, haven’t been able to connect the gas due to gas safety issue, non of the gas company is dropping the gas cylinder because the open vent is too close to the gas connection point. It must be minimum 1 meter distance but this one is very close, not even 50 cm. Informed the home agent and vendor. Not responding at all, no hot water and no fire for cooking in the house. Life is being so stressful that we could not do the basic daily life activities. We don’t know yet when we will be able to get this fixed. 😭😭😭. Rang the company, no response at all. We have the house next door build by the same company. They came few days ago to build the fence and I so informed them too but no response. They ignoring me saying they have very little English. They are Chinese builders and the neighbours is also Chinese. They extended the fence for them but for me not doing the basic as well. It’s a brand new home. They saying the vendor is in China for holiday and they will only do it when he comes back and it’s a same person who is vendor as well as developer. They can increase the fence but can’t fix the gas for my house? We are just suffering.

I bought an off-the-plan townhouse in Te Atatu South from them. Before settlement, they asked me whether I would like artificial turf or natural grass. I chose natural grass, expecting a green lawn. However, they simply scattered some cheap seed over poor-quality soil in the backyard, and the grass never grew. I did everything I could to make it work, but it was impossible because the soil is full of clay. I contacted them to complain and explained that if I had known they would install the natural grass in such an unproven way, I would definitely have chosen artificial turf. In response, they brought 10 bags of organic soil and scattered the same cheap seed again. I told the builder that this wouldn’t work because the organic soil needed to be much deeper to allow the grass to grow, but communication was difficult as they didn’t speak much English. I decided to wait and give it a second chance, buying a lot of fertilizer and more seed myself, but it still didn’t work, and I never managed to grow grass. I just want to make other potential buyers aware: if you want a green backyard, do not choose their natural grass option.
